Privacy policy
Last updated 8 September 2026
This explains what I do with your information. It is written in plain English on purpose, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not really a privacy policy.
Who I am
WebMOT is a one-person web studio run by Ahsan, working across South East London. I am the data controller for anything you send me.
Email info@webmot.co.uk or ring 07577 326283.
What I collect
Only what you type into the form on the home page:
- Your name
- Your business name
- Your website address
- Your phone number, if you give one (it is optional)
- Whatever you write in the message box
That is the lot. There is no account to create, no newsletter sign-up, and no hidden field collecting anything else.
Why I have it, and what I do with it
I use it to look at your website, write your report, and send it back to you. If you asked me to ring you, I ring you. That is the only reason I hold it.
The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you asked me for something and I need your details to provide it. You can ask me to stop and delete everything at any time and I will.
What I will never do
- Add you to a mailing list
- Sell, rent or pass your details to anyone for marketing
- Keep contacting you after you have told me not to
Who else sees it
Being straight with you, three companies are involved in this website working at all:
Cloudflare
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request information to serve the page and to block attacks. That is unavoidable for any hosted website. Cloudflare is based in the United States and transfers are covered by their standard contractual clauses.
The form processor
When the contact form is connected, submissions pass through a third-party form service before reaching my inbox. That service sees whatever you typed. I will name it here once it is set up.
Google Fonts
The typefaces on this site load from Google's servers, which means your IP address reaches Google when the page loads. This is common practice but it is still a transfer, so it belongs in here rather than being glossed over. If you would rather it did not happen, a browser extension that blocks third-party fonts will stop it, and I am moving to self-hosted fonts to remove it entirely.
How long I keep it
Enquiries are kept for twelve months so I can pick up a conversation if you come back to me, then deleted. If you become a customer I keep records for six years, because tax rules require it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me for a copy of what I hold, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I will do it within a month, usually the same week. It costs nothing.
If you think I have handled your information badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I would rather you told me first so I can put it right.
Changes
If this policy changes the date at the top changes with it.
