Terms
Last updated 8 September 2026
These are the terms I work under. They are meant to be readable rather than clever. If something here does not suit you, ring me and we will agree something that does, in writing, before any work starts.
The free website check
The check is genuinely free and there is nothing to sign. You send me your web address, I go through the site and send you a written report, usually within two working days.
The report is yours to keep whatever you decide. Fix it yourself, hand it to whoever built your site, or ignore it entirely. None of those offend me, and none of them cost you anything.
What the report is: my honest opinion of what is wrong with your website and what I think it is costing you. What it is not: a legal audit, an accessibility certification, a security penetration test, or a guarantee that I have found every possible fault.
Paid work
Prices are agreed in writing before anything starts. You will not get a bill you were not expecting. If a job turns out to be bigger than it looked, I tell you before doing the extra work, not after.
Payment is due within 14 days of the work being finished unless we agree otherwise. For larger jobs I may ask for half up front.
What I need from you
To fix a website I usually need access to it. Getting that access, or getting it from whoever currently holds it, is your responsibility. I cannot be held to a timescale while waiting for logins that have not arrived.
You confirm that any text, photos or logos you give me are yours to use. If a photo turns out to be someone else's, that is on you rather than me.
Who owns what
Once you have paid, the work is yours. Code, text, images and video I produce for you belong to you outright. I do not licence it back to you and I do not hold it hostage.
I may mention that I worked with you, and show the work, unless you ask me not to. Just say and I will not.
AI video
Video work is priced per job and agreed before it starts. Finished files are yours to keep and post wherever you like.
Two honest limitations. AI-generated video is not photography: it produces something that looks like your dish rather than a photograph of the exact plate you serve. If you need literal accuracy, say so and I will tell you whether it is the right tool. And you must not ask me to generate anything that misrepresents your food, your premises or your business, because I will not do it.
Where my responsibility ends
I will do the work carefully and to a professional standard. But websites sit on top of hosting, domains, plugins and third-party services I do not control, and I cannot be responsible for those failing.
I am not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect losses. Where I am liable, it is limited to what you paid me for that piece of work. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, because the law does not allow that and nor would I want it to.
I do not guarantee search rankings. Nobody honestly can, and anyone who does is selling you something.
Cancelling
You can cancel a job before I start and pay nothing. If I have already started, you pay for the work done up to that point. If I cannot finish something, I refund what you have paid for the unfinished part.
The monthly care plan can be cancelled any time. No notice period, no exit fee.
Complaints
If you are unhappy, ring me on 07577 326283 or email info@webmot.co.uk. I would rather hear it directly and fix it.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
